The Underwater Systems Laboratory (USL), as well as other research groups at NOCS design custom built equipment for work in the open ocean and deep sea, as well as utilise and modify existing commercially available equipment.

ESONET NoE has assembled a database of commercially available sensors known as the ESONET Yellow Pages. ESONET NoE is also developing a catalogue of custom sensor that are being developed around the world.
