Joana Nunes is a benthic ecologist working at the Plymouth Marine Laboratory. She has over 5 years’ experience of designing and running laboratory and field based experiments to assess the impacts of environmental stressors on marine organisms and ecosystems. Joana has specific experience in quantifying the effects of acidification and warming; with recent work on a variety of marine systems including macroalgae, intertidal fauna and benthic species. She has published 12 peer-reviewed papers and datasets. Joana conducts a variety of boat work, from local day trips to month-long research cruises. Her work with STEMM-CCS will be to assist with the fieldwork as well as the collection and interpretation of benthic faunal data.
