Alexandra Kokkinaki from the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC) gave an oral presentation as part of the ‘Informatics in Oceanography and Ocean Science’ session (ESSI1.1) at the EGU General Assembly in Vienna. The session focused on several aspects of the topic including information systems in oceanography and interoperability; key areas of the SenseOCEAN project being addressed by the BODC team, Alexandra, Justin Buck and Louise Darroch. Alex’s presentation was titled ‘A semantically rich and standardised approach enhancing discovery of sensor data and metadata’.
Bethany Fox, a PhD student from Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG), studying at the University of West England presented a poster showing results from CTG's UB fluorescence sensors. The poster titled ‘Application of portable in situ UV fluorescence sensors in natural and engineered aquatic systems’ was presented during session BG7.3 ‘Natural organic matter in aquatic systems: methods, fractions and interactions in natural and engineered systems’.
