Sensor Web Enablement Workshop at Oceanology International 2016
Alexandra Kokkinaki from the SenseOCEAN project participated in the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) Workshop held during Oceanology International 2016. She gave a presentation on ‘The Importance of Controlled Vocabularies and progress on the SenseOCEAN project’.
The workshop was organised by the EU-Eurofleets II project. It was attended by 60 people from Europe and the US related to projects that implement the SWE standards. All of these people share a common aim: to make SWE standard implementations interoperable so that seamless machine to machine communication is achieved.
Alexandra works at the British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC, part of NERC). Their role in SenseOCEAN is the establishment of the common data management systems required for all the developed sensors.
