Michael Nielsen
Dr Michael Nielsen is Senior Application Scientist at Unisense A/S where he is working with research and development of both new and existing micro-sensors technologies. He completed a PhD in microbiology where he successfully developed a novel nitrite biosensor for monitoring of water environments, a technology that has since been commercialized. He has held several post doc positions, working in Ireland as well as in Denmark, and he thus had almost 10 years of research experience within the field of sensor application and development, before taking up a position at Unisense in 2012. His experience with sensor R&D includes new developments, i.e., N2O, H2 and resistivity sensors, proof-of-concept project for a novel BOD sensor for environmental monitoring, and optimization of existing commercial N2O technology for wastewater application. He is author to seven scientific publications.
