Cruise preparation for DY130
Final preparations are underway for the upcoming RRS Discovery cruise to PAP (DY130)
Here Principal Scientist , Dr Sue Hartman is running the nutrient sensor (SUNA) while it measures standards (known concentrations) of the nutrients it will be measuring at 30 m water depth at the PAP-SO.
On the left of the picture is a new Wetlabs Fluorometer that will be used to measure chlorophyll in the surface waters at PAP-SO. Here it is being tested using an algal culture.
Both instruments will be set up to send data back in Near Real Time to be seen the data pages of the PAP website.
