Thomas Soltwedel

Dr Thomas Soltwedel is a deep-sea ecologist in the HGF MPG Research Group working on causes and effects of environmental gradients on the biodiversity of benthic assemblages and is responsible for the time-series work at the deep-sea long-term observatory HAUSGARTEN. Since 1991, he has participated in numerous EU deep-sea research projects (e.g. OMEX, ESONET/ EMSO, HYPOX). He works with ROVs and autonomous free-falling devices and is involved in numerous unique biological in-situ long-term experiments at the deep seafloor.
